(CBS) — U.S. Senator Mark Kirk is asking Chinese help to reduce the flow of synthetic marijuana into the United States, reports WBBM’s John Cody.
Senator Kirk says while synthetic marijuana may not be strictly illegal, he sees it as extremely dangerous as it is and for what it could be.

“What would prevent somebody in China from accidentally dropping cyanide into a package of synthetic cannabinoids and killing of a lot of our fellow citizens,” said Kirk.
Senator Kirk did not offer any casualty statistics for users of synthetic marijuana, but said he has written the Chinese government asking for their help stopping the flow.
